Kidepo valley national park is one of Uganda’s most spectacular parks. This national park is 1,442 square kilometers. Kidepo harbors scenery that cannot be found in any other parks in east Africa. Kidepo is tucked into the corner of Uganda’s boarder with Sudan and Kenya. It has a profusion of big game and hosts over 77 mammal species as well as around 475 bird species. Kidepo ranks among Africa’s finest wildernesses. From Apoka, in the heart of the park, a Savannah landscape extends far beyond the gazetted area, towards horizons outlined by distant mountain ranges. Various activities take place in this park and one cannot regret visiting this park and below are some of these activities;

Game drive; done both day and night, this activity is spectacular, you are endowed with much to see an appreciate, being one of the only parks after Kidepo that zebras can be seen in plenty. So much wildlife at close range including the rarely seen leopard.

Bird watching; alking of birdwatchers visiting this park is as good as pressing the right button. This park is endowed with a lot of birds and species that can not be seen anywhere else in Uganda like the rare shoebill. With your car rental or self drive on a game drive in the park, you just have it right.

Nature walks; being one of the biggest and best parks, this wildlife reserve gives an opportunity to watch these wild animals on an escorted walk through the park, zebras close to you, warthogs running besides you, trust me you will live to tell this nature walk. Get your car rental vehicle from Auto Rental Uganda parked at the beginning of the path and descend down the savannah, view the wild on foot.

A lot of various accommodations are in this place which are very appetizing to any traveler and they include the following;

Apoka Safari Lodge

Despite its remote location, Apoka Lodge is built for comfort. Spacious, private cottages cluster around a rocky kopje overlooking the Narus River, each with a screened balcony, outdoor stone tub (perfect for a starlit soak) and furnishings exquisitely handmade by local craftsmen.

The wildlife is abundant – lion, leopard, cheetah, elephant, buffalo, giraffe and zebra to name a few – and can often be viewed from the comfort and privacy of your suite, or the cool waters of the natural rock pool.
Of course, you’ll also want to get out into the park itself, exploring by foot or by game vehicle in the care of experienced guides, enjoying sundowner cocktails in the shade of a giant fig tree, or simply drinking in the sweeping 360 degree views of land and wildlife from specially constructed tower.
