Are we ready to travel? Uganda is open and ready for self drive Tours

Over the past couple of months, to be precise years hear in Uganda. African countries have perturbed between locking down (some, for a second time) and announcing plans to reopen to international travelers for self drive tours. But even as countries battle second and third waves of COVID-19, vaccine rollouts continue to expand, making a return to normal.

The situation in Uganda now is too much strict rules and guidelines to be followed after the international opening of travellers into Uganda for self drive tours.  Though the situation has improved in recent months as more vaccines become available. Indeed some countries, including Kenya, Rwanda Tanzania are easing lockdown restrictions already, opening tourist attractions and resuming hospitality services.

AS of now Uganda self drive tours are now on the go, they do have rules to follow but all hospitality venues and activities are open.

Are there any potential restrictions For Uganda self drive tours?

Due to the emergence of COVID-19 variants of concern, yes we do expect some restriction mostly to persons without the vaccine. This will allow member states to act quickly to prevent travelers from countries where variants of concern are spreading from entering, including those who are vaccinated.

We are urged still to do some of the following for safe tours.

  1. Safety checks in place.

Airports, airlines and car rental companies are showing us the sanitized way forward. Hotels and home rental companies have developed exhaustive routines to keep us safe. In fact, these are all entities whose businesses have always relied on keeping us safe. Now they have to remind us of that and of their continued existence.

Airports and hotels have got entry check points to sanitize and check the body temperatures. Some of these mostly at the airports are automatic at detecting high body temperatures that helps in picking those that are high risk travelers.

  1. Common sense for fear

We know how the virus spreads and we know the precautions we ought to take. I’ll wear my mask, a pair of gloves and even a face shield when I step out. If I do need to take the gloves off, I’ll remember to wash my hands. If I take the mask off, it’ll only be when I’m at some distance from other people.

I should then get into my own clean car and make a road trip of it. Or book an air ticket to my dream destination to tour around most probably like Uganda gorillas they seem nice to see.

With all this in our minds we ought to keep safe and social distancing ourselves if we are out. The virus on the tours now in Uganda may be minimal because of the stringent measures put in place but what about the one you have brought from home.

I have a feeling the best way to travel and do safe tours in Uganda now is self-drive Uganda. Those car rental companies know how to clean up real good after a safari. This way we keep alone and enjoy a Uganda safari without spreading or getting much coronavirus.

As of now the Uganda government has increased more stringent measure to cab down the spread of the virus, Before you enter here even if you got a covid-19 certificate you will definitely get tested at the airport or any border entry point in to Uganda for tours or self-drive safaris as a must.

Alongside the covid -19 certificate you will need a yellow fever vaccine certificate, mask and sanitizers as well as all the necessary travel documents needed like proof from your tour company about your safari.
